Season by season — when to go for comfortable desert nights, green valleys and fewer crowds.

Spring (March–May) & Autumn (September–November)

The best all-round seasons. Days are warm rather than hot, desert nights are pleasant, and the valleys are green. This is peak season for good reason — book ahead.

Summer (June–August)

Hot inland and in the desert, where daytime highs can exceed 40°C, though the camps cool sharply at night. Great for the Atlantic coast (Essaouira, Agadir) and early-morning dune activities.

Winter (December–February)

Cold, clear desert nights and snow on the High Atlas. Days are mild and sunny, the light is beautiful and the sites are quiet. Bring warm layers for the camp.
