A practical packing list for a desert camp night, whatever the season.
Clothing
Light, breathable layers for the day and something genuinely warm for the evening — desert nights are cold even in summer. A scarf doubles as sun and sand protection. Closed shoes for the gorges, plus sandals for the camp.
Essentials
- High-SPF sunscreen and lip balm
- Sunglasses and a wide-brim hat or scarf
- A small torch or head-lamp for the camp
- A power bank — charging is limited in the dunes
- Any personal medication and a few snacks
Good to know
You can leave your main luggage in the vehicle and take a small overnight bag to camp. Bring some cash in dirhams for tips, drinks and souvenirs along the way.
